Funny mirrors have been a longtime favourite at British funfairs, with the first ones made as an homage to the hall of mirrors found in the palace of Versailles. Our mirror show is our newest attraction, and was completed at the start of 2020. It too was built as a gentle homage, but not to Versailles, rather to my grandfathers show which he travelled in the 1950s. The shape of the frontage, and the large illuminated ‘PRICE’S’ sign are almost identical to his, but that is where the similarities had to end. In the 1950s, tastes and attitudes were quite different to today. My grandfather’s show actually featured dancing girls on the front, with the promise of a more racy affair, if you were to pay to go inside. Of course, a striptease show on a modern fairground would not be acceptable nowadays, so funny mirrors it is. We went with a classic Hollywood theme, all hand painted, inside and out. Art Deco lettering and patterns adorn the frontage, along with timeless stars of the silver screen like Laurel and Hardy, and Charlie Chaplin. Inside, where the fun and laughter happen, quotes from the movies, to help you act out the role of a movie star.

Hollywood Funny Mirrors

“Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all”. Take a walk inside, and stand in front of our funny mirrors to find out. Some will make you look thin, some will make you look short, maybe you will look like a movie star?
Our funny mirrors are perfect for any occasion, and can be enjoyed by everyone, if you have any space constraints, the mirrors can be hired separately without the Hollywood building.

Funfair facts:
The hall of mirrors in the palace of Versailles contains 357 mirrors, I’m not sure if any of them make you look tall and thin though.
In the pre internet, and pre TV heyday of funfair shows, all manner of things were made available for the average person to see, these included the first moving pictures, exotic animals, fine art, and striptease shows.
