The stall that houses the game was made by J.G. Markland, and has the most striking pattern, and colour scheme. The bottom shutters that carry this fantastic artwork were actually an innovation by Mr. Markland, who is credited as being the first to use wooden panels around the bottom of the stalls, instead of cloths.

Hook a Duck

Hook a duck, is of course, a funfair staple, and ours is quite simple: hook a duck, win any prize on the stall! Nothing hidden, nothing out of bounds, nothing you need to win again and again for….just hook any duck, and choose any prize.
There are many hook a duck stalls up and down the land, but it is our ducks that make our stall unique! As we are the Great British Funfair, we thought we would have great British ducks, so all of the ducks that you can catch, are famous British characters; we have a William Shakespeare duck, a Winston Churchill duck, a Scottish Piper duck, and many, many more. We even have a Catherine Duchess of Cambridge duck, which was quite the topic of conversation when the Duchess herself, and a young Prince George, actually came and played the game. The Prince was not interested in hooking the duck likeness of his mother, but chose to catch a London policeman instead. He also opted for a police related prize, and his mother explained that he has an obsession with all things police, and that he wants to be a policeman when he grows up.
